Georges Burrier

Located in the heart of the village of Fuissé and owned by our family since the 18th century, the Georges Burrier estate is 4 hectares large, only in Pouilly-Fuissé and Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru.

History

since 1854

Château de Beauregard has been owned by our family since 1854. First with François DESHAIRES (1814-1890) and his son Joseph DESHAIRES (1850-1929), who passed it on to his only daughter Jeanne, wife of Marc BURRIER (1873-1915). Then the Estate came to Marc’s son, Joseph BURRIER (1902-1983), who passed it on to his children and their descendants, current owners. On behalf of the BURRIER family, the following managers were successively Jacques BURRIER (1937-2021), then Frédéric Marc BURRIER, current CEO. The 7th generation has just arrived at the estate to keep going the family story.

A family story

Owned by the Deshaires family since the 18th century, the Domaine arrived by maternal inheritance to Georges Burrier in 1945, while his brother Joseph managed the Château de Beauregard. In 1968 the estate passed to Guy Burrier, son of Georges and Mayor of Fuissé from 1977 to 2020. When he retired, in 2003, Guy sold it to Maison Joseph Burrier. Thus were gathered the vine branches of brothers Georges and Joseph, until then separated.

Pouilly-Fuissé specialist

Domaine Georges Burrier is only made of AOP Pouilly-Fuissé and Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru VERS CRAS, LES VIGNES BLANCHES and LES MENETRIERES. Thanks to a sustainable viticulture, to patient and natural winemaking that privilege the ageing on fine lees, either in tanks or in 228 l Burgundian barrels, the Domaine produces high level Pouilly-Fuissé, very typical of great Burgundy whites, able to age very well.
