History

since 1854

Château de Beauregard has been owned by our family since 1854. First with François DESHAIRES (1814-1890) and his son Joseph DESHAIRES (1850-1929), who passed it on to his only daughter Jeanne, wife of Marc BURRIER (1873-1915). Then the Estate came to Marc’s son, Joseph BURRIER (1902-1983), who passed it on to his children and their descendants, current owners. On behalf of the BURRIER family, the following managers were successively Jacques BURRIER (1937-2021), then Frédéric Marc BURRIER, current CEO. The 7th generation has just arrived at the estate to keep going the family story.

A 10-hectare monopoly

Located in Milly-Lamartine, the home village of the great poet Alphonse de LAMARTINE (1790-1869), Domaine de la Rochette has been a monopoly of Maison Joseph Burrier since 2016. It comprises 10 hectares planted mainly with Chardonnay (AOP Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine and Mâcon-Bussières) and Pinot Noir (AOP Bourgogne Rouge). The estate also includes a small parcel (17 rows) of old AOP Bourgogne Aligoté vines.

CALCAREOUS SOILS IN ALTITUDE

The vineyard is located at about 400 m in altitude, on the slopes and plateau of the ‘Montagne de Cra’ in Milly-Lamartine, as well as on the steep slopes of the Mont Sard in Bussières, covered with a thin layer of brown clay. These remarkable terroirs allow the production of white and red Burgundies of high quality, fine and elegant.
