Château de Beauregard is an Empire style little castle built between 1809 and 1816. The engravings of the superb entrance porch made of white limestone are all to the glory of Emperor Napoleon 1st. Its location is remarkable, isolated at 250 m altitude at the highest point of the small limestone plateau, in the middle of the vineyards of the 1st Cru VERS CRAS. The name ‘Beauregard’ is due to the magnificent view (beau regard) one can enjoy from the estate, embracing the famous rocky cliffs of Solutré and Vergisson, classified since 2013 'Grand Site de France', and the villages of Pouilly and Fuissé. Its large cellars are among the most impressive of Mâconnais: succession of vaults under the Castle, they can contain 280 Burgundian barrels.
The Château de Beauregard vineyards are mainly located in AOP Pouilly-Fuissé et Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru (LES VIGNES BLANCHES, LES MÉNÉTRIÈRES, LES REISSES, VERS CRAS, LA MARÉCHAUDE et LES CRAYS), but as well in AOP Saint-Véran (including Climats ‘En Faux’ et ‘La Roche’), Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly, Fleurie (Climats ‘Poncié’ et ‘Colonies de Rochegrès’), Moulin-à-Vent (Climats ‘Les Pérelles’ et ‘La Salomine’) et Beaujolais-Villages. The white wines of Château de Beauregard are organic certified since vintage 2022.
