Fine and mineral, with aromas of white flowers (acacia, hawthorn) and fruit. Balanced, persistent citrus finish.
In southern Burgundy, the latest Appellation Villages du Mâconnais (February 1999), located 20 km north of Mâcon, replaces the former Appellations Mâcon-Clessé and Mâcon-Viré. The 219-hectare Viré-Clessé appellation extends over 2 north-south-facing hillsides, composed of Bajocian limestone and marl and Oxfordian limestone strata at altitudes ranging from 200 to 440 meters. Quintaine' is unquestionably one of the Appellation's most recognized Climats.
