The best time to drink this wine depends on the natural acidity of the vintage. Saint-Véran 'En Faux' has a mineral expression and a beautiful maturity. The wine is expressive from its youth, then generally evolves towards honeyed, toasty notes; the taut finish remains long and marked by citrus fruit.
At the southernmost tip of Burgundy, the Saint-Véran Appellation (700 ha), created in 1971, is produced solely in 7 communes, divided into 2 distinct zones, one facing the Mâconnais and the other the Beaujolais, on either side of the Pouilly-Fuissé Appellation. Château de Beauregard's 7.5 hectares are mainly planted with Chasselas. Climat 'En Faux' is located on the south-facing slope of Mont de Pouilly, at a good altitude (270 m) and consists of clayey, stony soils, more or less chalky on the surface, but resting on hard red Entroque limestone, which gives the soils their brick color.
