We recommend tasting this Saint-Véran within the first 2 years. The wine has a pale gold color and a seductively fruity expression of flowers and white fruit, with a gourmet mouthfeel of pear and a citrus finish.
In the extreme south of Burgundy, on the border with Beaujolais, AOP Saint-Véran (700 ha), created in 1971, is produced in 7 communes, divided into 2 zones on either side of AOP Pouilly-Fuissé. The Arlois is the stream that marks the geographical and geological boundary between the Jurassic Mâconnais and the volcanic Beaujolais. It is this small valley, the Val d'Arlois, which gives its name to this cuvée, made from predominantly chalky soils, conducive to the wine's aromatic freshness.
