In its mature state, the wine has a brilliant golden color, intense, complex aromas and flavors of toast and honey, revealed by the richness of its constitution, with hints of gunflint. The finish is sustained by citrus fruit and fine salinity.
At the southernmost tip of Burgundy, the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation covers 800 hectares, 194 of which will be classified as Premiers Crus from the 2020 vintage. The villages of Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson constitute its exclusive production area, in an exceptional natural setting: the world-famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, Jurassic limestone spurs culminating at 495 m and classified as a "Grand Site de France". Climat 'Les Insarts' (1er Cru LES MÉNÉTRIÈRES from the 2020 vintage) is situated at around 300 m altitude on the steep, south-east-facing hillside overlooking the village of Fuissé, at the historic heart of the local Chardonnay plantation. The soil, conducive to the production of great, powerful white wines, is made up of fairly deep, pebbly brown residual clay resting on limestone marl.
