The wine is very rich, opulent, but without losing its finesse and balance. Lemony, honeyed finish.
At the southernmost tip of Burgundy, the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation covers 800 hectares, 194 of which will be classified as Premiers Crus from the 2020 vintage. The villages of Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson constitute its exclusive production area, in an exceptional natural setting: the world-famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, Jurassic limestone spurs culminating at 495 m and classified as a "Grand Site de France". The 1er Cru LES CRAYS is situated at an altitude of 400m, on the steeply sloping (15-20%) south-facing hillside below the Roche de Vergisson cliff, on very stony (scree), fairly deep brown clay-limestone soils. Château de Beauregard owns just under a hectare in the 'LES REISSES' climat, located on the steep, east-facing slope of Mont de Pouilly, on shallow, chalky soils.
