In its mature state, the wine has a brilliant golden color, intense, complex aromas and flavors of toast and honey, revealed by the richness of its constitution, with hints of gunflint. The finish is sustained by citrus fruit and fine salinity.
Mâconnais is the more southern sub-region of Burgundy. The Pouilly-Fuissé AOC (800 ha, including 194 ha of Premiers Crus) is situated where the contours become more marked, around the famous rocky cliffs of Vergisson and Solutré-Pouilly and the two other villages of Fuissé and Chaintré. The vineyards cover steep sloping cirques, mainly facing East and South-East, on which the soils are a mixture of clay and chalk from the Jurassic era, from 200 to 400 meters altitude.
The Premier Cru ‘LES MÉNÉTRIÈRES’, is one the 22 Premiers Crus of Pouilly-Fuissé. It is located on the steep slope looking upon the village of Fuissé, facing East, at 270-310 m of altitude, on shallow soils made of residual brown clay on calcareous marls.
