The wine is marked by its seductive floral (acacia, lemon) and fruity (peach, pear) aromas and elegance. Fresh and complex on the palate, with an intense texture supported by fine salinity. Precise, mineral finish.
At the southernmost tip of Burgundy, the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation covers 800 ha, including 193 classified as Premiers Crus as of the 2020 vintage. The villages of Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson make up its exclusive production area, in an exceptional natural setting: the world-famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, Jurassic limestone spurs culminating at 495m. The site is now protected and classified as a "Grand Site de France". Domaine Georges BURRIER's Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru 'LES VIGNES BLANCHES' is situated at around 300 m altitude on the sloping hillside overlooking the village of Fuissé. The very stony, brown limestone soils from the Bathonian era are ideally exposed to the east, producing floral, fragrant wines of great charm.
