The wine has a deep, dense ruby color and a nose with spicy, peppery notes. The profile on the palate is fine, precise and satiny, with hints of black fruit (blackberry, cherry), against a backdrop of enveloping breeding and smooth tannins.
In 2003 and 2018, we planted this small 14-acre vineyard in our best plot in Fleurie (Beaujolais), the Colonies de Rochegrès. We thought that on this sloping hillside at an altitude of 300 m, very well exposed to the EAST, made up of pink sandy granite soils quite similar to the best in the Rhône Valley, the Syrah grape variety, derived from old serine selections, would find a Terroir conducive to high-quality expression. Only around 500 bottles are produced each year.
