The wine has a deep ruby color. It reveals an impressive structure and aromatic complexity of flowers (wilted rose, peony), ripe red fruit (black cherry, raspberry) and spices (white pepper). The palate is fleshy, jammy and sensual, with a long finish of ripe tannins.
The "Colonies de Rochegrès" cuvée is made from the best and oldest vines - planted in 1952 - of our 5 hectares of Fleurie located in Poncié, one of the Appellation's historic Climats, which is currently in the running for the premiers crus. Its location, next to the famous Clos de Rochegrés of the Moulin à Vent PDO, gave it its name. On these steep EAST-facing slopes, 360 m above sea level, the slow process of erosion has degraded the hard granite rock into pink sand, rich in silica and iron oxide.
